I Don't Know!
I've posted!Why?Because I can,that's why. >:3
LJ exclusive post I suppose.This week turned out to be so-so.First I got all four of my projects done on time but two of them I made some mistakes,nothing that'll take a HUGE chunk out of my grade but it's the fact that they were small ones that I shoulda caught that dissappointed me.And what I believe is my graphics card is has been screwing up ever since I got it.It first only happened when I tried to use 3D games but now it's freezing whenever I use max so now I can't do my homework. :/
Oh well.I'm gonna update me driver right now and let's hope that help any.
Too lazy to spellcheck so deal with it. X3

For those of you who wonder,LJ is for my deeper thoughts and DA Journal is for my less than deep/business related stuff.
Lately,been getting IMs of people wanting to buddy up with me and it's usually after I post up art.I know this 'cause they talk to me to say hi and the convo usually centers around a piece they liked.Long story short they want to be my friend and therefor expect me to draw for them 5 minutes after meeting them.Some of them seem nice and though I'm not in the habit of saying no I do mind people just talking to me for free art.As of yet I haven't said no directly but I would make up an excuse about why I couldn't at the time,and even the ones that I invite to PChat just want me to draw while they watch.And it makes me wonder if I'm giving off some sort of freebie vibe.Would it kill them to get to know me first?

THE OEKAKI IS FIXED!! (Serious this time X3)
Yes,everyone (who actoally uses it X3) I finally did it.I had to go into the header file for it and make some minor changes and undo some of the screw ups my crappy webhosting did.They screwed with the oekaki's header.php file and that's what was 'causing all it's problems.I also tweaked it abit for good measure.If I hadn't taken that php class I would ahve never have been able to understand the instructions from the forum I got the oekaki from. :3 One of the only problems left now is that I don't think you can customize your template anymore.The hosting put in a header cost to change the background color and I had to change it back to what it was before manually through code so I don't know if you can still have your tempaltes running anymore. :/ But a small price to pay,no?

Major Change Explained (Summore X3)
People wanted abit more clarity on the the matter so let me explain it abit more:
I changed from media arts/animation to game art and design for a few reasons.You see I had been thinking about it for quite some time.I was just testing the waters if I really,truely wanted to follow that path.Alot of artist friends I know choose the path of an animator because most of us since we were little always wanted to get into Disney and stuff and do some top-notch animation.And I thought it would be cool,even today while I was working on my animation homework it was a very fun thing to do to an extent.But it's not the same as painting a dramatic scene or paneling a wordless comic page.It's cool and all to see my drawings move around on screen but when I get down to it do I really want to tween for the rest of my life?I certainly don't want to do all the my animated works in 3-D either.And I can certainly do some cool stuff doing animation.Anyone who knows me personally as an artist knows what kinds of personal touch I bring to any medium I use and seeing me animate would be a unique sight,but I just don't have the passion for it.Also I have alot of money to pay back for my loans and stuff,will animating be a able to pay that back?I'm getting shiftey answers from people but my firends from school say the minium salary for someone with the gaming industry is about 40k a year with benefits.This course of action is more financially stable and in my best interests,plus I plan on having a family one day and love won't pay the rent.I guess I'll always have it around as a hobby or something on the side and someday I may make something more of it along the way but when I ask myself that famous question: "What do I see myself doing in 5 years?" animating doesn't seem to be on the top of that list.Since it's my first art instructed quarter it's a good time to make this decision,plus the classes I had this quarter are all transferable so I don't have to worry about wasting my time as I would have had to have taken these courses anyways.
Lets's just hope that clarifies it abit more for you all.It's important to be thinking of your future while you build it.It certianly would be a sad thing to willing train yourself in something you don't love.

What's New?
Lesse first the Copic company came over to my school and gave out free samples and demostrations as part of this sale pitch they've got going.And I'm changing my major from Media Arts/Animation to Game Art and Design.There's a huge difference between animating and drawing.Animation is just not me,it isn't inspiring.Plus the curiculum the recruiter promised me just isn't there,if you go to my LJ you can see the whole story on that.So instead of making cartoons I'll be making video games.Exciting,no?So how's everyone else doin'?

I Shoulda Been An Illustration Major :/
The guy who got me into AI gave me this song and dance about how I could have "honed my art skills" with being an animation major.He even took out the course list and explained it too me but I found out from my professor that almost everything he showed me is done in 3d modeling programs.The listing is even made to leave out that little detail so people would think you'd be learning those things with traditional media.So I'm only gonna get 1 color theory class,1 figure drawing class,1 perspectice drawing class,and 1 life drawing and gesture class.EVER.That's it.The rest is 3d programs like MIA.And I find out that this school doesn't have illustration or visual arts at all.So he sweet talked me into it so I just wouldn't go to another school for my money.If I want to learn those things I have to learn them myself or take courses elsewhere they said.You know extracurricular learning.So I'm paying my art school so I can learn art elsewhere.My prof said alot of students here end up leaving this place 'cause of it.They'll be all excited and then after their first quarter will be like "WTF!".But if it's any consolation I can sit in for classes I already took so if I want to expand my figure drawing they said I can take the course as many times as I want.Oh joy. X3

Got My Work Cut Out For Me And First of the Month
Yesterday in Character and Object Design I just got the skinny for what's due from this point to the end of the semester.Basically I have to do 100 drawings in two weeks.Well,a good chunk of the drawings are already done,allow me to explain.What?Well I'm doing it anyways! X3
I have 6 characters and a vechicle to make.I need to show my drafts of each,expressions and/or functions,a final main drawing in color,and a minimum 3 (preferably) point turnaround of each totaling to a minimum of 10 drawings each.It will come to 70 drawings and must include original concept sketches from any point in class.As for the other 30 drawings those are are for my portfolio review.He's going to give us a handout next week but it's basically due for all animation students at week 11.It can have art from whenever even all the way back to kindergarten.
So that's basically what's in store for me.Keep in mind this is just for this class.I still got SFA,2DA,and ENG to deal with. xx;
Nothing I can't handle though. >3

Can you believe it's MARCH ALREADY!?I can got some serious catching up to do.My project for this month is to color more.So expect for colored works.

What A Day and CONTEST TIME!
Today was an awesome day.I went to that figure invention workshop today.Only like 6 people showed up of all my classmates that said they would and I feel totally sorry for whoever didn't come.It..was..AWESOME!It feels like the day I learned balls and sockets (that's my standard construction style that I favor) all over again.I also got some exclusive hand outs by some students of Vilppu.He also showed us shortcuts to aming the figure easier to draw from any angle.I still need practice with them abit more but I already am getting the hang of it.I also learned something dissappointing,this school is more of a technical school so I won't be instructed in anything that has to do with improving drawing in terms of aesthetics.With means I'll learn alot of making my drawings move and getting 3d animation characters built and moving around but as for drawing special effects and environments better that'd have to do on my own time.I'm so-so with that,I mean they offer workshops and clubs for this stuff and I learn these things myself anyways but I was hoping I'd get more instucted help.But My teacher said if I wanted that I should have been an illustration major. X3
If anyone was wonder what's the difference between the two majors I goes as following:
Animation > Make your drawings move
Illustration > Make your drawings prettier
Just some food for thought in case any of you are thinking of going to college with your art.I don't regret picking my major though,he said I have a better chance landing a job with animation as my major.
Ok,now for that contest!It's bascially some fun stuff my a Fee used to do sometimes similiar to topics if any of you PChatted with me.He how this is gonna work:
Go to my oekaki at [link] and pick 3 pictures,they can be drawn by anyone.And then note me that you picked those three and I will pick a fourth pic and you have to draw a short (or long if you want it doesn't matter) comic based on those 4 pics.They can be in any order or relevance and you can use the desc and comments for those pics as well.
Keep in mind this contest will be based more on creativity than on skill,so if your drawings skills aren't too good don't worry about it,it won't matter in the end anyhow.
If you wish to enter just comment or note me saying that you wish to participate.I want to start when I got at least 6 people.The prize will be a comic for you made in a similar fashion but starring you char.Kinda like that 1985 comic thingy I did awhile back.Which by the way I'm almost done with. X3

Valentines Day
Ah the day of love and one of the holidays no one cares to change the name of. X3 A day for the heart to lead it's master to a brighter day or just for some lonely emo to make everyone feel as bad as they do 'cause they so lonelay! X3 I was thinking the other days whilst talking to this holy guy and on the TV was a thing about crimes of passion.I suppose 'cause VDay was coming up the media wanted to scare people for precious ratings.But granted it was interesting,it was mainly about stalkers and obsessed people.And we talked about it and how the heart can make people do crazy things.And I mused abit about it in my head,'cause that's what I do.Is our hearts evil or just abit on the bad side?I mean it is on our left and left is considered to be our sinister side.People do do evil things when they let theirs hearts get the better of them.I had a funny thought that very moment: Why do we cover our hearts before we say the pledge of alligance?Is it to keep our hearts from hearing it or just to protect the flag from it's evil?I never understood why we would cover our hearts with our rights hands.And what of love?The priest said it's all about sex,when your hearts goes off it's just thinking about dirty,dirty sex (he's catholic X3).Can you love someone without the need to screw their brains out?I think so but somewhere down the road it'll get down there.Making love is one of the closest things you can do with another person.In the end I think it's good to listen to your heart just alittle bit,not to much but just enough.Sometimes you can't trust your emotions to reason for you.

Late Night Ramblings
Before I hit the hay I'd like to share my most recent musing.I don't usually post them online but what the hell it's a new year! X3
I was asked by others,and myself for that matter,why I'm so quick to befriend artists than other people of a profession and I thought about it for abit.I came to the conclusion that the reason why I would be such a way would be that an artist has the potentional qualities in themselves that I admire.
For a good artist needs to observe from all aspects of a subject and therfore he would be openminded.
He has to sweat to gain skill and therefore he would be dedicated.
He needs to has an active imagination in order to create so he would be fun to be around.Also he would need to want to create so he would be inspired.
An artist with good drawing skills means that he didn't give up and any artist knows the pain of artist block and a stagnant imagination.He pushed on through the tough times and I respect that that.I respect people who take the time to learn such things and being an artist is one of the hardest things you can do.Do you see yourself in there?

Midterms Part 1 of 3 :3
Why am so happy?'Cause your looking at a solid B Character and Object Designer,that's why!Although that's just with the grades I have just for turning in all my work,I'll get the rest later. :3
All I had to do was this easy fill in the blanks pose sheet.You get this 3/4 view of a character and you got to make a profile,3/4 back,front,and abck veiw of it.Really easy stuff.I also had to finish up some pose sketches and then get my character turnaround sheets critiqued and correct and resubmit them.That's it!Then I got to go home for the day. :3
Thursday will be my Sculpture for Animation Midterm and then I got 2D Animation and English Midterms the next day.Wish me luck!

So BORED!
I got so much school wor k to do but it was my day off so I jsut relaxed.I tried joining fur for all on DA and yet like a week after joining it shut down on me.It's like I'm a freaking leper or something.Well the hunt for a community trudges on.
Here's an interesting story:There's this chick at school that draws nothing but furry.Nothing else.Just furry.And I hear from a classmate that she butts heads with everyone and she's got this black friend who's always there and when they are questioned about them only doing furry art they go into attack mode over it.And what's worst,they hog up the comp in the library,which surprizingly enough for an art school,is like the only scanner they have for students.And what do they do you ask?PHOTOSHOP,every single computer at the school has flash,like a million photoshop versions,Microsoft Office,and every single art program (except Painter X3) the students could bring and they use that one! X3 If you want to be an artist you got to be diverse.Like one of my teachers says:"When you get a job in animating;if you can't draw it YOUR FIRED!" If can only draw big busted vixens and nothing else,you in deep shi'ite. *starts a muslim riot* X3
